European Capitals of Culture

The European Capitals of Culture, an initiative conceived in 1983 by Melina Mercouri, then serving as Greek minister of culture, are designed to highlight the richness and diversity of cultures in Europe.

For the year 2021, Elefsina, Novi Sad, Timișoara are nominated European Capitals of Culture
