The Creative Europe Desk Greece participated in the annual meeting of the Creative Europe Desks (CEDesk Meeting), organised by the EACEA in Brussels from 1 to 3 October 2025.
During the three-day event, participants discussed key topics regarding the future of the Programme in the upcoming Programming Period 2028–2035, the Annual Work Programme for 2026, as well as the development of AgoraEU and the role of Creative Europe within this new European cooperation framework.
Culture strand
With regard to the Culture strand, discussions focused on the Programme’s core actions such as the Transnational Cooperation Projects and the European Circulation of Literary Works. Special emphasis was also placed on Culture Moves Europe, the mobility scheme for artists and cultural professionals.
Another major topic concerned how Creative Europe Desks can design and implement high-impact events, thereby increasing the visibility and effectiveness of the Programme. In this context, the role and potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the cultural and creative sectors – as well as in the daily work of the Desks – was also addressed.
Record number of applications in 2025
It was noted that the number of applications submitted for the 2025 calls exceeded all expectations, confirming the strong relevance and value of the Programme for Europe’s cultural and creative ecosystem.
Special sessions: Mediterranean and Western Balkans cooperation
Two thematic sessions were of particular interest.
The first one focused on Mediterranean cooperation in the field of culture, where the Creative Europe Desk Greece contributed actively alongside the Desks of Cyprus, Italy, Spain, France and Croatia, as well as with the participation of the Anna Lindh Foundation, presenting specific examples of successful Mediterranean collaborations.
The second session focused on the Western Balkans, highlighting the link between networking, mobility, and national co-funding mechanisms for the cultural sector.
