MusicACT – Activating Careers in Music for Youth: Open call for mentors

Posted on Posted in News - Releases, Calls

MusicACT – Activating Careers in Music for Youth is a European cooperation project funded by the Creative Europe Programme, implemented by El Sistema Greece (Greece), Sistema Cyprus (Cyprus), Trillargento (Italy), and the Reina Sofía School of Music (Spain). The project aims to empower young musicians, particularly those from vulnerable or less advantaged backgrounds, by strengthening their artistic and professional skills. It combines educational activities, mentoring schemes, artistic residencies, and digital learning tools, while fostering stronger links between music education and the evolving needs of the cultural labour market. A key focus of MusicACT is also the development of transnational collaboration and inclusive pathways into professional music careers across Europe.

As part of MusicACT, an open call for mentors has been launched, inviting music professionals and arts educators to actively contribute to the guidance and development of young musicians.

Selected mentors will join an international network of collaboration and work closely with young participants from different European countries, supporting their artistic growth, professional development, and creative autonomy. The mentoring process aims to strengthen key skills such as artistic development, career readiness, and professional confidence within the cultural sector.

The call reflects the project’s broader commitment to inclusion, equal opportunities, and bridging the gap between music education and real-world professional pathways in the cultural and creative industries.
