DigiEduHack 2025: The European Innovation Marathon for Digital Education Returns for its 6th Edition

Posted on Posted in News - Releases

The European Commission is once again launching the Digital Education Hackathon (DigiEduHack) – a global innovation marathon that brings together citizens, organisations, and communities to co-create solutions to today’s digital education challenges.

The 6th edition of DigiEduHack will take place between 7 and 16 November 2025, featuring a series of 24-hour local hackathons across Europe and worldwide. Participants of all ages, skills, and backgrounds will collaborate to develop creative solutions under eight challenge categories, including:

  • artificial intelligence in education,

  • digital well-being,

  • accessibility,

  • data-driven education.

Why join?

DigiEduHack is more than an event – it is a global movement. It gives participants the opportunity to gain new skills, connect with creative minds, test innovative ideas, and contribute to shaping the future of education in the 21st century.

In 2024, 51 hackathons across 25 countries engaged over 1,700 participants, who developed more than 450 innovative solutions, with 4 being selected as Global Winners.

How to take part?

There are two main ways to join DigiEduHack:

  • As a host: Schools, universities, cultural organisations, NGOs, start-ups or public authorities can host local hackathons – online, in-person, or hybrid. Hosts receive extensive support tools, including host guides, challenge examples, sponsorship packages, and coaching calls.

  • As a participant: Everyone is welcome – from tech experts and educators to students, curious learners and citizens interested in digital education. Participants can browse the interactive map of hackathons on the DigiEduHack website and access a variety of resources (participant guide, MOOCs, pitching templates, FAQs, and more).

Registration and support

Registration for hosts and participants is open until Friday, 20 October 2025. Early registration is highly recommended to make the most of webinars, podcasts, coaching sessions, and support materials.
