Culture Moves Europe, the European Union’s mobility programme for artists and cultural professionals, has launched the Call for Residency Hosts 2025–2026. The call is addressed to legal entities wishing to host artists and cultural professionals within the framework of a structured residency project.
The call is open from 15 December 2025 until 16 March 2026 (23:59 CET) and is implemented by the Goethe-Institut, as part of the Creative Europe Programme.
Who can apply
Applications are open to legal entities that:

are registered and based in one of the Creative Europe countries, including overseas countries and territories and outermost regions,
-
have the capacity to host artists or cultural professionals from other Creative Europe countries,
-
are active in one of the eligible sectors: architecture, cultural heritage, design and fashion design, literature, music, performing arts, and visual arts.
Both newly established and well-established organisations are eligible to apply.
What does the residency grant offer
The residency grant provides financial support to both the host organisation and the selected residents.

For the host organisation:
A hosting allowance of €50 per day per resident, as well as additional funding for accessibility support, where applicable. -
For each resident:
A daily allowance of €30 per day, a travel allowance (€400 for distances under 5,000 km or €800 for distances over 5,000 km), and the possibility to receive additional top-ups, such as support for green mobility, family-related costs, visa expenses, overseas regions, and accessibility needs.
Key requirements
Applicants are required to submit:

a clear residency project concept for hosting 1 to 5 residents, addressing at least two of the following objectives: learning, creating, exploring, connecting, or transforming,

proof of their capacity to implement the project, including the provision of appropriate accommodation and workspaces,
-
at least one mentor to provide artistic or professional guidance to the residents.
The application process consists of two phases. In Phase 1, applicants submit their residency project and supporting documents. If selected, they proceed to Phase 2, where they choose the residents and submit detailed information for each participant.
Evaluation and timeline
All applications will be evaluated after the deadline by two independent evaluators. Final selection is made by a jury composed of representatives from the European Commission and the Goethe-Institut, taking into account quality, duration, geographical and sectoral balance, and inclusion aspects.
Results will be communicated via the Goethe Application Portal by 5 May 2026. Selected hosts may then implement their residencies, with the earliest possible start date being 8 June 2026.
