Cooperation Projects

The Creative Europe Programme finances transnational cooperation projects, so as to help Europe’s cultural organisations cooperate across borders. Examples of transnational cooperation projects consist of cross-border exchange of works of art through lending, international tours and exhibitions, as well as co-productions, joint tours and performances of cultural organisations from different countries.

 

There are two (2) types of transnational cooperation projects:

 

Smaller scale cooperation projects

One (1) coordinator of the project and at least two (2) organisations as partners from different countries (representation of at least three countries is required). The maximum EU funding for the project may amount to € 200,000 and may account for up to 60% of the total cost of the project.

 

Larger-scale cooperation projects

One (1) coordinator of the project and at least five (5) organisations as partners from different countries (representation of at least six countries is required). The maximum EU funding for the project amounts to € 2,000,000 and may amount to up to 50% of the total cost of the project. You can be informed about the countries participating in the Programme from the relevant European Commission website. Please note that the list of participating countries is subjected to regular changes and therefore a regular visit to the above-mentioned website is recommended.

 

Eligible applicants must: Be active in the cultural and creative sectorsBe legally based in one of the participating countriesBe established as a legal entity for at least two years (only for the coordinator)The coordinator is authorized by all partnersThere should be a cooperation agreement for all the projects included in the proposal.

 

Eligible actions: They must be related to the cultural and creative sectorsActivities that are purely audiovisual are not eligible, because they are funded by the MEDIA sub-programme. Eligible period: The maximum duration of transnational cooperation projects is 48 months for both categories Start: May – December for category 1Start: June – December for category 2.

 

Deadline for submission of proposals for the current call: 18 January 2018 Specific call for applications for transnational cooperation projects within the framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
